* Characteristics of CIPSA Redlines *

CIPSA is an acronym for "Compania Industrial de Plasticos, SA", a Mexican based plastics company that produced many Mattel toy products,
under license, for the Mexican market, including Barbie, Big Jim, Sizzlers, Rrrumblers, Hot Shots and other Mattel product lines.

For at least four years, beginning in 1971, CIPSA produced Hot Wheels cars that are uniquely different from the US and Hong Kong versions.
As of late 2016, only about 600 total CIPSA produced cars are known to have survived. Of those, less than 10% are in good condition, making them quite rare.

Start your journey by reading the History of CIPSA page to learn how these little known cars finally came to light.

The purpose of this page is to provide detailed information to aid in determining whether a car is truly a CIPSA or a domestic (US or HK) version.
The unique attributes of the 33 known CIPSA castings is detailed in the sub-pages under each casting
Click on each thumbnail photo for the detailed description of each casting and additional photos.

The CIPSA Registry page is a photographic record of each and every complete CIPSA car that is publicly known. This page is updated on a regular basis.
