Comments:
The Custom Toronado is one of "Detroits", as the real American made models in the Topper line up are known. It is a lightly customized version of the 1968 Oldsmobile
Toronado. Like the other 7 Cars from the Great Eight, it came in a mirrored finish with open doors, standard finish with open or sealed doors.
Custom Toronado in Blue, Opening Doors
The Custom Toronado came with white or red interiors and an opening hood. Earlier production had opening doors but were later abandoned.

Shawn's Take!
The Custom Toronado or "Toro" for short came in both opening and sealed door variations. The most common color for the O/D is royal blue and purple for the S/D. The
O/D's also came in honey gold, purple, violet, pine green, lime, teal, gold, orange, red and ruby with ruby being the hardest to find. The sealed door also came in teal,
blue, pine green, and lime. These are the only colors I've seen for the S/D variation with lime being the least found. Mirror finish colors are orange, dark aqua, red,
gold, and champagne pink. Only one pink known at this time (2013). There is a variation of missing rooflines over the rear wheels. They are occasionally missing
on the mirrors and if they aren't present on an O/D, then the cars will blue or purple and most likely will have a black roof. A NM/M Toro in any color starts around
$260 for a blue and about $190 for a purple S/D. Ruby O/D's usually come in around $400 and the S/D apple around the same. Toros with black roof around $400 and the
gold mirror, just over $1000. Since only one pink has been found, we can only estimate its value. The owner would sell it for $2500 if pressed. The car is a C5 at best.
