Discussion:
The Power Pad, designed by Ira Gilford and Howard Rees, was released in 1970 continuing the tradition of "in-house" designed concept cars started in 1969.
Power Pad
Resembling a Dune Buggy but equipped with a transverse mounted front engine, big fuel tanks and a spacious camper shell, the Power Pad was made for the outdoors!
Made only in the US factory, the interior of the Power Pad is always black and the wheels are large caps front and rear.
Power Pad, Front and Rear
The white plastic camper slides into bed of the Power Pad, guided by a tab and small slot slot in the front
of the open bed. The back of the shell snaps onto the base utilizing the piece that resembles a trailer hitch.
Power Pad, Front and Rear
A four cylinder transverse mounted engine dominates the front of the Power Pad. The windshield is clear plastic and the camper shell is always white with clear windows.
