Comments:

One of the three new castings released in 1973, produced only that year.
It was reproduced by Mattel for the 30th Anniversary but the base of the casting will not be marked Hong Kong.
The reproduction interiors are removable and have been made in a number of colors. All original Sweet 16's have black interiors.

1973 Sweet 16 Engine Details

The name of the casting derives from the long 16 cylinder engine.

1973 Sweet 16 Trunk Lid Details

The Sweet 16 features a rear trunk lid that opens to expose a spare redline wheel cap.

1973 Sweet 16 Base Details
Like the Superfine Turbine, the Toy Number (6007) for the Sweet 16 falls in the range of the 1971 product line.
The copyright date of 1970 apparently reflects the design and name copyright, not the year of production.
