Discussion:
The Swingin' Wing, designed by Ira Gilford was released in 1970, one of the seven "in house" concept car designs made that year.
Swingin' Wing
The two seater, rear engine, Swingin' Wing features a dual closed cockpit with a plastic canopy over each seat. The engine pulls out of the rear for viewing!
All Swingin' Wing are shoed with medium-size cap-style wheels front and large capped wheels in the rear.
Swingin' Wing :Hong Kong (L) vs. US (R)
Although the Swingin' Wing was made in the USA and Hong Kong, the two versions of the body casting are indistinguishable.
The Hong Kong versions have blue-tinted windscreens and dark interior. The US version of the Swingin' Wing features clear windscreen glass and a white interior.
Overall, the Hong Kong version is harder to find than the US version.
Swingin' Wing : Front and Rear
There is no detail paint on the Swingin' Wing. Play value was added by making the engine pull out of the rear of the car.
US vs. HK Bases
The bases of the two versions differ only in the text.
Swingin' Wing with Motor Pulled Out
One can see the color of the wheel strip with the engine pulled out. The US version has an orange colored wheel strip wheras the Hong Kong version has a black wheel strip.
