Comments:
The Flying Colors version of the Porsche P917 is derived from the 1973 casting of the same name and only the base casting was changed.
The rear wheels of the earliest releases were capped style wheels but soon change to through holes front and rear.cThe base was changed to
black plastic for the 1976 release.
The Two Tampo Variations, 1974 - 1976
It was first released with the "Porsche" tampo in Enamel Orange and the Red alternate color.
For the 1976 release, the tampo changed to the "P917" variant and the base changed to black plastic.
Progression of P917 Bases
The progression of base variation shows that the US base was used for the 1974 and forward versions.
1976 version with P917 Tampo
This variation has the later P917 tampo and a black plastic base.
